Here we give you an idea of what to expect as you begin a CBD regimen.
Those new to cannabinoids are never quite sure what to expect when trying CBD for the first time.
If you haven’t had CBD products before, you are sure to have questions:
- What does CBD oil taste like?
- How long will it take the effects to kick in?
- How will CBD make me feel?
- How long do the effects of CBD last?
- How long does a CBD product last?
We get it. Like you, we were at one time CBD beginners. So, here we give you a heads up on what to expect as you begin your CBD routine.
What Does CBD Oil Taste Like?
Well, that depends on what type of CBD product you select.
The taste of pure unfiltered CBD oil is often described as earthy or grassy due to hemp’s chlorophyll and mix of natural terpenes and organic compounds.
However, Dixie Botanicals® CBD products allow you to experience all the natural benefits of a CBD hemp oil while avoiding the plant’s earthy flavor. Here’s what you can expect regarding taste with our line of products:
- Designed to go under the tongue, our Dixie Botanicals® CBD tinctures are low potency CBD oil products that are either lightly sweetened with Stevia or flavored naturally with cinnamon or peppermint essential oils to mask hemp’s chlorophyll taste. For a CBD tincture with no measurable amounts of THC, our Dixie Botanicals® CBD Isolate Tincture is made with pure CBD isolate and has a delicious orange flavor.
- Our Dixie Botanicals® CBD Isolate is a 99% pure crystalline powder that has no hemp oil flavor or scent.
- Providing a great tasting all-natural energy boost, our low-sugar Dixie Botanicals® Kicks are bite-sized edible chews available in sweet chocolate and fruity sour apple.
- Made to seamlessly pair with nearly all liquid-compatible vaporizers, our Dixie Botanicals® CBD Vape Juice comes in three delicious flavor options– sour watermelon, vanilla caramel, and blackberry lemonade.
- Swallowed with a swig of water, our Dixie Botanicals® CBD Gel Caps are a great way to enjoy the balancing properties of CBD while avoiding any flavor.
How Long Does it Take for CBD to Take Effect?
This is a simple question with a not-so-simple answer. The time it takes for you to feel the effects of CBD oil depends on how long it takes for CBD to reach your bloodstream where the compounds can begin interacting with the body’s receptors.
Each person’s body and their system is unique, so no one reacts to medicines, vitamins, or wellness products the same way. How quickly CBD takes effect is influenced by various factors, including your:
- Circulation and hydration level
What also impacts on how quickly CBD starts working is your consumption method of choice. The amount of time it takes CBD to reach your body’s receptors depends on whether you take CBD sublingually, swallow it, inhale it through CBD-filled vapor, or apply it to your skin.
When you inhale your CBD by vaping or dabbing, CBD enters your lungs and diffuses nearly immediately into your bloodstream for effects that users typically say come on in an “instant to a few seconds.” Others report it takes anywhere from 5-30 minutes.
Placing and holding CBD under your tongue for 60-90 seconds, referred to sublingual administration, allows the compounds to be absorbed by the mucous membranes in the mouth before quickly being delivered to the bloodstream. This method is relatively quick-acting and typically offers effects within minutes.
Swallowing to ingest CBD products is a more slower-acting way to take CBD. This is because the product and its compounds must first pass through the digestive system and be broken down by the liver before reaching the bloodstream. When you swallow CBD, it can take as much as 30 minutes to an hour for the compounds to take effect.
With CBD topicals, which are products applied externally on the skin, effects are often slower to kick-in but are long-lasting. When applied to the skin, CBD and other active ingredients are absorbed into the skin where they interact with cells near the surface without entering the bloodstream. This method might take anywhere from 15-30 minutes.
Again, keep in mind that everyone’s experience varies.
How Will CBD Make Me Feel?
It’s important to first point out that CBD oil will not cause you to experience a high. Because CBD oil is derived from hemp, which naturally contains only trace levels (0.3%) of the psychoactive compound tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), it is a completely non-intoxicating product.
As far as the immediate effects of CBD oil, people react to CBD differently. Some of our consumers say they feel a sensation of “increased relaxation” or “soothing calmness” after taking CBD products, while others have reported experiencing slight “awakening” or “energizing” effects. Some have said they don’t particularly feel any type of sensation after taking their CBD oil serving, but notice that with regular use they experience an “overall better energy” in the daytime and “improved sleep patterns” at night.
With regular use, you will likely begin to notice the long-term effects of CBD oil. CBD promotes balance in your body and its functions by supporting your endocannabinoid system, a major regulatory network.
Over time, you may experience effects and sensations related to a more active endocannabinoid system as your body and its functions operate more efficiently. You may notice CBD’s natural balancing properties positively impact your sleep habits and other functions regulated by the endocannabinoid system.
How long it takes for these long-term effects to be noticeable varies from person-to-person.
How Long Do CBD’s Effects Last?
CBD will continue to interact with the endocannabinoid system’s receptors to promote balance for as long as the compounds remain in your body. It’s hard to say exactly how long CBD oil and its compounds stay in your system. Limited research findings suggest that it can take about a week before the compounds are completely eliminated from the body.
The full effects of CBD, however, may only remain for 4-12 hours, depending on the method of use. This is why some prefer to take multiple servings of CBD oil throughout the day. They feel doing so helps ensure a more constant level of cannabinoids in the body.
How Long Does CBD Oil Last?
Dixie Botanicals® CBD oil products come with an expiration date attached to their specific batch number listed on their package. This expiration date is usually about two years from the date of manufacture but may vary slightly depending on the type of product. Storing your CBD oil products away from heat, light, humidity, and oxygen will help maintain their freshness and improve their shelf life.
Most people who use our CBD products make them a part of their everyday regimen and are not worried about expiration dates as they are replacing their used products with fresh ones on a regular basis.
Many Dixie Botanicals® CBD products provide around a month’s supply of CBD, depending on the frequency of use and size of servings.
Our Kicks energy chews and CBD Gel Caps each come in a 30-count jar, offering 30 days worth of single servings or 15 days if you prefer to take CBD twice a day. Kicks are available for $49 per jar and provide 5 mg CBD in each chew. Priced at $109, our CBD Gel Caps offer 25 mg CBD per capsule.
Our 1-ounce jar of Dew Drop tinctures, available for $29.99, provides you with about 80 2-pump servings of 1.25 mg of CBD each. The 2-ounce bottle, priced at $99.99, contains over 160 2-pump servings of 3 mg CBD each. Most customers prefer to take CBD tinctures twice a day, meaning they would need to refresh their product every 40-80 days or so.
Each 1-gram jar of CBD Isolate, at $49.99, contains 990 of CBD. How long a jar of CBD Isolate lasts depends on your personalized daily serving. For example, a daily serving of 10 mg CBD isolate for 9.9 mg of CBD will last 100 days. However, if you take 50 mg of CBD isolate for 49.5 mg of CBD each day, the jar will last you about 20 days.
For vaping enthusiasts, our CBD Vape Liquid is a 30 ml vape bottle containing a total of 1000 mg of CBD for $99.99. How long this CBD vape oil will last depends on the frequency of your vaping sessions, how many draws you take in each session, as well as the length of your draws.
