Our easy to follow guide to using Dixie Botanicals® CBD Isolate to create CBD-infused edibles.
Are you the crafty type who prefers making their own, rather than buying from a store? Perhaps you like the control that making your own edibles at home gives you over what you put in your body?
Then it is time to meet Dixie Botanicals® CBD Isolate.
Sprinkled into Food
The easiest way to infuse any food with CBD is to simply sprinkle Dixie Botanicals® CBD Isolate into your favorite foods before you sit down to eat. Since CBD is best absorbed when it binds to a carrier fat, it is recommended to add CBD into foods with fats present to increase bioavailability.
For accurate measuring of CBD servings, get yourself a kitchen scale that measures as low as milligrams. Because our CBD Isolate is 99 percent pure, each mg of our powdered isolate equals one mg of CBD. You can also find scoops or small spoons that measure our servings in as small as 10 mg or less, giving you the ability to fine tune your daily CBD servings.
Suspend CBD Isolate in Honey
You can also use Dixie Botanicals® CBD Isolate to create a sweetly satisfying method for taking your daily CBD supplement. Using a double boiler or similar steam-heating technique, our CBD Isolate can be added to honey or agave nectar.
As the honey is heated, the CBD isolate will dissolve, mixing into the honey. Once fully dissolved, your CBD-infused honey or agave can be used to sweeten coffees and teas, topped over fruit bowls, drizzled on avocado toast, or however else you enjoy using natural sweeteners for a healthy, CBD-infused start to your day.
Craft Your Own CBD-Infused Oils
Similarly, CBD Isolate can be infused into food-grade oils like coconut oil. Just as with honey, a double boiler can be used to slowly heat your coconut oil as your stir in your desired about of CBD Isolate. After the CBD is dissolved, the oil can be blended into your favorite foods or beverages.
Once crafted, these infused oils can be used in the following ways:
- Infuse your daily smoothie
- Fold into ice cream
- Use as a base for salad dressings
- Or more.
Cooking with CBD Isolate and Infused Oils
It is also possible to add CBD Isolate or CBD-infused oils to most recipes as an additional way to create DIY CBD edibles in your home.
One note to consider, however, is the boiling point of CBD, which is between 320-356°F (160-180°C). At temperatures higher than this, it is possible that some CBD potency may be lost, diminishing the effectiveness of your edibles.
When cooking with CBD, aim for lower cooking temperatures to avoid degradation of the CBD, or even better, add your CBD to the meal after it has cooked to retain the integrity of the CBD.
Get Started with Homemade CBD Edibles
Why should you make CBD edibles? A study on a sprayable cannabinoid product that was absorbed first sublingually and then in the digestive tract after being swallowed demonstrated the positive effects of eating before taking a CBD supplement. Results of the study demonstrated that bioavailability was four times higher for CBD when taken after a meal.
